Iraqi Ministry of Labor: Child labor increased compared to last year

The Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs says the rate of child labor in Baghdad and other Iraqi provinces has increased in recent years.

Najm al-Iqabi, spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, said Wednesday: in the past two years, there has been an increase in the proportion of children under the age of 18, some of whom work in heavy jobs.

He added that employers who work with children under the age of 18 will take legal action against them.
